Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng was elected as Chairman of the Danang City People's Committee

At the first session of the 11th City People's Council, 100% of the attending delegates agreed to elect Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, as Chairman of the Danang City People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.

In his new position, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng affirmed that he would work with the leadership team to promote a spirit of responsibility and democracy, build on the achieved results, and actively encourage innovation and creativity in direction and administration. The focus is on improving the quality of Party building, particularly in personnel organization, inspection, and supervision; simultaneously promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, enhancing discipline and order, and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative apparatus.

With a determination to successfully implement the resolutions of Party committees at all levels and the 14th Congress of the Party, the Chairman of the City People's Committee pledged to develop Danang into a sustainable, civilized, and modern city.

Opening of Made in Danang Expo 2026: Large-scale trade promotion, connecting products and markets

At the exhibition of distinct and exemplary products oriented for export from Danang City in 2026, Deputy Chairman of the City People’s Committee Trần Chí Cường affirmed that businesses are at the center of the development process, while the State plays a role in creating, accompanying, supporting, and promoting public-private cooperation, as well as creating a transparent and open business investment environment.

The exhibition is an opportunity to promote products, connect partners, expand markets, and enhance the brand value of 'Made in Danang.' With an area of over 3,000 m² and

112 booths, the event brings together a diverse range of OCOP products, common rural-industrial items, and many potential export commodities.

Within the framework of the exhibition, the trade connection conference between Danang enterprises and other localities opens up opportunities to find partners, expand markets, and deeply participate in supply chains. The B2B activities are lively, with direct connections from the Central Retail system and 27 potential suppliers from Danang, Cần Thơ, and Cao Bằng.

Alongside that, the workshop on consulting the development project of the "Made in Danang" brand is an opportunity for management agencies and businesses to exchange views, contributing to the improvement of guarantee mechanisms, enhancing recognition, and increasing the value and competitiveness of local products.

Danang “bursts” with a series of cultural events and festivals attracting visitors during the April 30 and May 1 holidays

The series of cultural and tourism activities for the Hùng Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30th and May 1st, is organized continuously from mid-April to early May across the city.

In April, the festival atmosphere is lively with Bà Nà Sun Fest at Sun World Bà Nà Hills; the exhibitions "Colors of Quảng Land" at Danang Museum of Fine Arts and "Vietnam Junctions" at Danang Museum.

Notably, there is the Danang Áo Dài Festival 2026 at the Bạch Đằng area, alongside the Sắc Sưa Hương Trà Festival and the Kỳ Yên Sơn Cẩm Hà Festival.

The Danang 2026 Sea Tourism Season Opening Ceremony is held at Biển Đông Park, Sơn Trà Peninsula, and the beaches, with the highlight being the "Overcoming Summer Waves" swimming competition; at the same time, the Yến Craft Commemoration Festival takes place at Cù Lao Chàm, celebrating the 555th anniversary of Trà Kiệu Villages, and the closing of the Light and Heritage Festival at Ký Ức Island.

In May, the subsequent activities include the “Chăm Heritage Colors” festival at Mỹ Sơn; the Stone Art Founders' Festival in Non Nước village; and the Trà Linh Market at Konpin Cultural House, Trà Linh commune. In addition, ongoing programs such as the Bà Nà Sun Fest and the Animal Actors Show at Núi Thần Tài Hot Springs Park continue to serve residents and visitors.

Danang Áo Dài Festival 2026 takes place from April 24 to 26

Taking place from April 24 to 26, the 2026 Danang Áo Dài Festival is being held for the first time in the areas along the Han River and at various locations across the city, featuring a series of cultural and artistic activities aimed at honoring and promoting the value of the Áo Dài in contemporary life.

The festival includes prominent activities such as the "Danang Impressions" parade, the "Hôi An - Colors of Silk" fashion show, on-site experiential and tailoring spaces, and the artistic program "Convergence on the Hàn River" at Nguyễn Văn Trỗi Bridge. In addition, community activities, business networking, and promotional programs are organized to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

The Danang city aims to make the Áo Dài a practical everyday garment, connecting traditional values with modern life, and contributing to building the image of a creative and culturally rich destination.

Exhibitions “Colors of Quảng Land” and “Vietnam Junction”

To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Danang Museum is presenting 43 outstanding works by 36 painters and sculptors at the art exhibition "Colors of Quảng Land," showcasing a diversity of materials and artistic languages.

The works create a rich artistic space, reflecting the city’s developmental journey and aspirations for progress. The exhibition runs until May 5, 2026, at the Danang Museum of Fine Arts (78 Le Duan Street, Hai Chau Ward).

Meanwhile, the exhibition "Vietnam Junction" at the Danang Museum gathers remarkable works by photographers Daniel Roussel, Gilbert Bertrand, and Lily Franey, capturing various facets of Vietnamese life across periods from the war, post-war, to reconstruction. Through realistic and emotionally rich images, the exhibition recreates the country’s transformative journey from an international perspective. The exhibition runs until May 17, 2026.

Danang does not engage in discriminatory behavior against Indian tourists

On April 13, the City People's Committee sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in India, and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism with the following information: Through inspection and

verification by the relevant agencies and units, and review of the city's reporting channels, as of now, no signs, notices, or behaviors with content discriminating against Indian tourists have been detected in Danang. No tourism business establishments have been recorded displaying signs or notices with content such as "No Smoking - No Indian" or any form of service refusal based on nationality.

The city's Tourism Quick Response Team hotline and Tourist Support Center have also not received any reports from Indian tourists related to the above issue.
