Promote comprehensive cooperation between Danang and Champasak (Laos)
At the courtesy meeting with the high-level delegation from Champasak Province, led by Mr. Alounxai Sounnalath, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Provincial Party Secretary, and Chairman of the Champasak Provincial People's Council, on the afternoon of May 8, Central Committee Member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Head of the Danang National Assembly Delegation Lê Ngọc Quang emphasized that Danang always prioritizes cooperative relations with the southern and central provinces of Laos, including Champasak Province. The friendship between the two localities has continued to develop in a substantive and effective manner and is increasingly deepening.
Danang will continue to grant 100% scholarships to Champasak international students; send teachers to teach Vietnamese; receive officials for experience exchange; promote business connections, investment, and tourism. The city is also developing a plan to strengthen cooperation with Lao localities for the period 2026-2030.
Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee, Alounxai Sounnalath, stated that the visit aims to concretize the cooperation content for the period 2026-2030, while also surveying the fields of tourism, agriculture, industry, and investment promotion. He requested that Danang continue to support Champasak students studying in the city and encourage Danang businesses to invest locally.
Both sides agreed to enhance the exchange of delegations, promote cooperation across multiple sectors, and witness the signing ceremony of memoranda of understanding on cooperation between Danang partners and enterprises and those of Champasak province in various fields.
On the same morning, during a working session with the Danang Digital Transformation and Strategic Technology Center, the delegation from Champasak Province (Lao People's Democratic Republic), led by the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Champasak Provincial People's Council, Alounxai Sounnalath, discussed numerous topics related to the model of digital technology development, innovation, and urban
infrastructure investment of the city; with a focus on human resource training, software applications, artificial intelligence (AI) development, digital transformation in state management, and the development of the digital economy and digital society.
Chairman Alounxai Sounnalath expressed the desire for the city to support provincial officials in participating in advanced training courses on AI, digital transformation, and software applications; at the same time, he suggested sharing mechanisms and policies to attract technology enterprises for investment.
On this occasion, the working delegation engaged with the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects of Danang City to learn about major infrastructure works, transportation projects, urban renovation, and the city's strategic infrastructure development orientation.

Accelerate the progress of the project “Integrated Adaptive Development of Quang Nam Province (now Danang City)”
At the working session with the World Bank (WB) mission on the project 'Integrated Adaptive Development for Quang Nam Province (now Danang City)' on the morning of May 6, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng requested accelerating the implementation progress in order to quickly realize investment effectiveness; at the same time, he affirmed that the city will utilize existing resettlement areas, ensure timely handover of land, and proactively provide construction materials.
The project has a total capital of 2,723 billion VND, to be implemented during the period 2026 – 2031 in 8 communes and wards in the southern area of the city, aiming to enhance disaster adaptation capacity, reduce flooding, improve transport and irrigation infrastructure, and strengthen coastal connectivity.
The project includes dredging work on the Trường Giang River, constructing the Tam Kỳ flood drainage complex, and 7 bridges. Currently, investment preparation work is basically completed, with some items expected to commence construction in May 2026.

Danang promotes a sustainable aviation fuel ecosystem through IPS Vietnam 2026
At the Policy Innovation & Sustainable Aviation Fuel Technology Forum – Vietnam 2026 (IPS Vietnam 2026) on the morning of May 7, Deputy Chairman of the Danang
City People's Committee, Hồ Quang Bửu, stated that Danang is oriented towards developing an ecological urban area and a green economy, and aspires to become a hub for connecting sustainable energy initiatives in the region.
The forum focused on discussions about energy transition policies, the roadmap for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development, investment mechanisms, and the SAF value chain connection in Vietnam. During the event, numerous memoranda of understanding were signed to promote the development of the SAF ecosystem, innovation, and green transformation in Vietnam.
Da Nang City affirmed that it would continue to create favorable conditions for the investment environment and accompany partners in implementing cooperative initiatives in the field of green energy and sustainable development.

At the press conference announcing the Danang Food Tour Festival 2026 on the evening of May 7, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi stated that the festival is organized to make Quảng cuisine a distinctive tourism product, contributing to positioning Danang as an attractive culinary destination in the region.
With the theme "The Quintessence of Quảng Cuisine," the festival will take place from May 20 to 24, 2026, at East Sea Park, opening at 7:30 PM on May 21.
This year's festival focuses on a multi-sensory experience, allowing visitors to "touch - feel - live" with local culture through cuisine, festivities, and lifestyle. Over 4,700 athletes participate in the IRONMAN 2026 in Danang
The VNG IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 Multi-Sport Week and VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang 2026 has officially kicked off, gathering more than 4,700 athletes from over 90 countries.
This season marks the first time Vietnam will host a full-distance VNG IRONMAN, while also celebrating the 10th season of VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang. The event opened on May 10 at East Sea Park.
Athletes will conquer the coastal routes of Danang in a triathlon. For VNG IRONMAN 70.3, the distances include a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run; for the full-distance IRONMAN, the competitions consist of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run.
The sports week is expected to welcome around 1,800 international athletes, contributing to affirming Danang’s position as a leading sports tourism destination in Asia and as the largest triathlon festival ever held in Vietnam.

The project covers an area of approximately 172.6 hectares, excluding the connecting water areas, ship channels, and shared turning basins within the Lien Chieu terminal area.<br />
The overall design capacity of the project reaches approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year, equivalent to about 74 million tons of cargo per year. Within this, the operational capacity by 2030 is expected to reach 14.25–36.3 million tons per year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the bilateral survey at the Tây Giang (Danang) - Ka Lum (Sekong) border gate area on the morning of May 14, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thái Bình and Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee Khanty Silavongsath agreed on the policy and coordination plans to prepare the necessary conditions to upgrade the Tây Giang - Ka Lum border gate to a main border gate before 2030.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides conducted a field survey, determining the scope of the border gate area, suitable locations, and coordinates to serve planning purposes, forming the basis for proposing adjustments to the planning and developing the design for the main border gate.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">On the afternoon of the same day, the leaders of the two localities co-chaired a meeting and signed a joint coordination plan to implement the roadmap for upgrading the Tây Giang – Ka Lum border gate. According to the plan, by May 2026, the dossier determining the scope of the border gate area will be completed; from June 2026 to June 2027, relevant planning will be finalized; in the 2027-2029 period, investment will focus on transportation infrastructure and works in the border gate area; in the first quarter of 2030, the governments of the two countries will be presented with a proposal to consider upgrading it to a main border gate.</p>

Meanwhile, 6 events at the pool focus on specialized skills such as: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), victim towing relays, 10m line throws, line throw relays, and 50m victim carries...</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The AI system will record sounds, identify bird species, and provide information regarding their characteristics, behaviors, and habitats, helping residents and tourists gain a deeper understanding of the natural world.</p>
