April 25: Opening of the 2026 Marine Tourism Season with the theme: "Vibrant Summer”
From April 25, 2026, to May 3, 2026, vibrant activities within the framework of the 2026 Marine Tourism Season program will take place at East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, and the beaches of Phuoc My, My An, My Khe, and Nguyen Tat Thanh.
The opening ceremony will be held at 5:00 PM on April 25, 2026, at East Sea Park.
The program consists of 19 main activities located at East Sea Park, Son Tra Peninsula, and the tourism beaches of Da Nang. The schedule includes 05 new activities: Da Nang Pizza Festival 2026, An experience journey of making ice cream from Vietnamese rice plants, Beach Water Games, Marine sports performances, and the "Son Tra Walking Day".
There are 14 recurring activities maintained over the years, such as: Artistic Kite performances, the 2026 International Marine Rescue Competition, the 3rd "Conquering Summer Waves" sea swimming competition, the 2nd "Ky Vuong Xu Quang" Chinese chess tournament, and the "Vietnamese Flavors" culinary space.
During this occasion, a series of attractive coastal entertainment venues like Kalà Kalà Beach Club, The Holiday Beach Club, Malibu Beach Club, and Maia Beach Bar in the My An beach area, as well as Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa in the Nguyen Tat Thanh road beach area, are ready to serve visitors. These venues contribute to providing a vibrant, diverse, and attractive experiential space for residents and tourists.
At the local beaches, tourists can easily access amenities such as beach umbrellas and chairs, freshwater showers, parking lots, coastal restaurants and bars, along with experiential services like surfing, SUP paddling, jet skiing, and parasailing.
Additionally, in May, Tam Thanh beach in Quang Phu ward will become lively with the "Sea Flavor Food Festival" taking place from May 22 to May 24, 2026. This festival promises to bring a unique culinary experience space deeply imbued with coastal character.
In July, the "Cua Dai Beach Festival – Summer Emotions" will be organized at Cua Dai beach. This event will feature a series of engaging activities such as marine art performances, beach sports, food festivals, and nighttime entertainment programs

<p style="line-height:30px">The project is consistent with the Detailed Planning for seaport groups, terminals, wharves, buoy berths, water areas, and water zones for the period 2021–2030, with a vision toward 2050.<br />
The project covers an area of approximately 172.6 hectares, excluding the connecting water areas, ship channels, and shared turning basins within the Lien Chieu terminal area.<br />
The overall design capacity of the project reaches approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year, equivalent to about 74 million tons of cargo per year. Within this, the operational capacity by 2030 is expected to reach 14.25–36.3 million tons per year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the working session with the World Bank (WB) mission on the project 'Integrated Adaptive Development for Quang Nam Province (now Danang City)' on the morning of May 6, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng requested accelerating the implementation progress in order to quickly realize investment effectiveness; at the same time, he affirmed that the city will utilize existing resettlement areas, ensure timely handover of land, and proactively provide construction materials.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The project has a total capital of 2,723 billion VND, to be implemented during the period 2026 – 2031 in 8 communes and wards in the southern area of the city, aiming to enhance disaster adaptation capacity, reduce flooding, improve transport and irrigation infrastructure, and strengthen coastal connectivity.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The project includes dredging work on the Trường Giang River, constructing the Tam Kỳ flood drainage complex, and 7 bridges. <p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The VNG IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 Multi-Sport Week and VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang 2026 has officially kicked off, gathering more than 4,700 athletes from over 90 countries.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This season marks the first time Vietnam will host a full-distance VNG IRONMAN, while also celebrating the 10th season of VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang. The event opened on May 10 at East Sea Park.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Athletes will conquer the coastal routes of Danang in a triathlon. For VNG IRONMAN 70.3, the distances include a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run; for the full-distance IRONMAN, the competitions consist of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The sports week is expected to welcome around 1,800 international athletes, contributing to affirming Danang’s position as a leading sports tourism destination in Asia and as the largest triathlon festival ever held in Vietnam.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the bilateral survey at the Tây Giang (Danang) - Ka Lum (Sekong) border gate area on the morning of May 14, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thái Bình and Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee Khanty Silavongsath agreed on the policy and coordination plans to prepare the necessary conditions to upgrade the Tây Giang - Ka Lum border gate to a main border gate before 2030.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides conducted a field survey, determining the scope of the border gate area, suitable locations, and coordinates to serve planning purposes, forming the basis for proposing adjustments to the planning and developing the design for the main border gate.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">On the afternoon of the same day, the leaders of the two localities co-chaired a meeting and signed a joint coordination plan to implement the roadmap for upgrading the Tây Giang – Ka Lum border gate. According to the plan, by May 2026, the dossier determining the scope of the border gate area will be completed; from June 2026 to June 2027, relevant planning will be finalized; in the 2027-2029 period, investment will focus on transportation infrastructure and works in the border gate area; in the first quarter of 2030, the governments of the two countries will be presented with a proposal to consider upgrading it to a main border gate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the meeting with the Olympic Council of Asia, the local Organizing Committee, and the Sanya city government, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi discussed the possibility of Da Nang hosting sporting events linked to its beach advantages, including a proposal to organize the World Beach Water Polo Championship in 2027.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph"><span style="tab-stops:center 243.65pt">Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi, assessed that this is an appropriate orientation in line with the city's strategy for developing marine tourism, water sports, and the environment. Danang assigned the relevant departments and agencies to coordinate and support research on legal procedures, consider the possibility of organizing an International Surfing Competition, while promoting the establishment of a friendship relationship between Da Nang and Wakayama Province (Japan), expanding investment cooperation and promoting the marine tourism image.</span></span></p>
