Celebrating the 2569th Traditional Lao Bunpimay New Year in Da Nang

On the occasion of the traditional Bounpimai Lao New Year 2569, on the morning of April 8, city leaders visited and extended New Year greetings to the Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang. Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh sent New Year wishes and affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Da Nang and Lao localities is increasingly developing; at the same time, he emphasized that the working trip of City Party Committee Secretary Le Ngọc Quang to Central and Southern Laos has opened up many opportunities for cooperation.

Subsequently, on the afternoon of April 10, at the Bunpimay Traditional New Year Festival 2569, leaders of both sides continued to affirm the special friendship between Laos and Vietnam and committed to strengthening effective cooperation. The Consul General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang, Vonekham Chueangmanivong, expressed pride in the close relationship between the two countries, highly appreciated the cooperation with Central and Southern Lao localities and Da Nang's concern for Lao students, while affirming he would continue to act as a bridge to promote cooperation in the future.

On this occasion, educational institutions awarded hundreds of scholarships to Lao students. Delegates performed traditional rituals such as wrist-tying and Buddha bathing, sending wishes for a peaceful and happy new year.

More than 600 delegates participate in the "Peace Steps" Walk

The official ceremony (The Commemoration of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva) of the Quan The Am Marble Mountains Festival in Da Nang city attracted tens of thousands of Venerable monks, nuns, compatriots, and tourists from all over to attend and worship.

At the ceremony, delegates joined in releasing peace balloons for national peace and prosperity; they performed traditional rituals expressing messages of love, turning their hearts toward Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and praying for the country to always be at peace and for the people to be prosperous and happy.

The Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva masquerade ritual was performed alongside the procession of the statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, which is also the part of the ceremony most anticipated by locals and tourists.

Within the framework of the Festival, the "Peace Steps" walking program attracted more than 600 delegates, spreading messages of peace, friendship, and international cooperation. The route was approximately 1,800m long.

In the unique cultural, historical, and spiritual space of the Marble Mountains Special National Relic, after 4 days of organization, the Quan The Am Marble Mountains Festival 2026 concluded on the morning of April 7, continuing to affirm the sustainable value of a typical cultural-spiritual event, spreading national traditional values and the Buddhist spirit of compassion and wisdom, while leaving a good impression on citizens and international tourists.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung discusses the development of Chu Lai Airport with the Consul General of the Netherlands

At a working session with Ms. Raissa Marteaux, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, regarding the development orientation of Chu Lai Airport on the morning of April 8, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung affirmed that the city would create a transparent and favorable investment environment, providing support in procedures, land, and infrastructure, and accompanying businesses throughout the project implementation process.

The city aims to develop Chu Lai into an air cargo transport hub for the Central region, linked with logistics, supply chains, seaports, and industrial zones; while simultaneously developing aviation industries, services, and maintenance, contributing to the promotion of high-quality urban areas, commerce, and services. In this regard, priority will be given to investors with potential and experience to participate in the research, exploitation, and development of Chu Lai Airport.

Consul General Raissa Marteaux highly appreciated the development potential of Chu Lai Airport, especially in terms of location, infrastructure, and connectivity; at the same

time, she stated that many Dutch businesses are interested in and wish to explore investment opportunities.

She hoped the city would create favorable conditions for businesses to access the project and affirmed she would continue to play a bridging role, promoting cooperation between Dutch businesses and relevant agencies and units.

Integrated Flood Management Planning for the Vu Gia – Thu Bon River Basin

At a meeting to discuss the Integrated Flood Management Planning for the Vu Gia – Thu Bon River Basin sponsored by JICA (Japan) on the afternoon of April 9, Da Nang city highly agreed with the orientation of the integrated flood management approach by river basin that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and JICA are researching, emphasizing the requirement to shift from a "flood-fighting" mindset to "adaptive flood management," proactively controlling risks and balancing development and safety.

The Da Nang City People's Committee committed to coordinating closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, localities in the river basin, and international organizations, including JICA; providing full information and data and participating actively in the process of completing the research to ensure feasibility and effectiveness when implemented in practice.

Ready for the Da Nang Venture and Angel Investor Summit 2026

At a meeting to provide opinions on the organization plan for the Da Nang Venture and Angel Investor Summit 2026 (DAVAS 2026) on the afternoon of April 10, city leaders requested relevant units to proactively and closely coordinate in the organizational work; strengthen connections and mobilize social resources and domestic and foreign investment funds to participate; and step up communication and promotion work to spread the image of Da Nang as a regional center for innovation and venture capital. In addition, security, safety, medical work, logistics, and necessary conditions for the Summit must be ensured.

The Summit is expected to take place from May 25 to 27, 2026, at the Ariyana International Convention Centre Da Nang and several other locations in the city with the theme "Innovation Meets Global Investment" and the message "Blooming Ideas, Spreading Capital."

The Summit includes many main activities such as: a summit for Web3 builders; market access workshops; investment connection seminars; an innovative startup exhibition with more than 50 booths; a pitching program for about 50 domestic and foreign projects; 1:1 investment matching between funds and startups; a cooperation signing ceremony and side activities.

Preparation for the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and International Medicinal Materials Festival Da Nang 2026

At a meeting to hear a report on the organization of the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and International Medicinal Materials Festival Da Nang 2026, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu requested departments and branches to complete

the plan with clear tasks and focal points, and to promote socialization; at the same time, it is necessary to ensure security, order, safety, and environmental sanitation throughout the duration, contributing to the successful organization of the event and enhancing the Ngoc Linh Ginseng brand associated with the image of Da Nang city.

The Festival is expected to take place from August 1 to 3, 2026, on a large scale at APEC Park, Bach Dang walking street, and ginseng-growing regions.

Specifically, the ritual to worship the Ginseng God and the 2nd Ngoc Linh Ginseng Seedling Donation Ceremony will take place on July 31 at the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Temple (Tra Linh commune). The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of August 1 with the theme "Ngoc Linh Ginseng – The Essence of World Medicinal Materials" at Bach Dang walking street (Hai Chau district).

The Festival includes many prominent activities such as an exhibition space for Ngoc Linh ginseng and medicinal materials with experience areas and introduction of deep-processed products; an international scientific conference on ginseng and medicinal materials; the "Flavors of the Great Highlands" culinary space; along with side activities such as a tour to experience the ginseng region, the "Million Steps to the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Region" running race, art programs, and a gala to connect domestic and foreign partners.
