Opening of the Danang International Fireworks Festival 2026

The Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 officially opened on the evening of May 30 with the theme "Danang – United Horizons."

This year, the festival brings together 10 fireworks teams from 8 countries and territories, including 4 teams participating for the first time: Macau (China), Australia, France, and Germany.

During the opening night, the performances by the host team Danang (Vietnam) and the reigning champion Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Fireworks (China) painted a dazzling picture of life, the beauty of the blue planet, and the aspiration to connect humans with nature, leading the audience on a journey of exaltation through masterpieces of light, music, and art.

Strengthening cooperation with localities in China

At the working session with the Chinese Consul General in Danang, Dong Bich Du, on the morning of May 25, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyễn Đức Dũng highly appreciated the cooperation and investment support activities between Danang and Chinese localities in the fields of science and technology, investment, services, tourism, and trade; at the same time, he hopes to continue expanding cooperation, strengthening connectivity, and promoting the role of the Chinese Consulate General in Danang as a bridge.

Recognizing Danang's important role in the Central - Central Highlands region, Ms. Dong Bich Du hopes that the City People's Council will continue to promote local exchanges, facilitate Chinese enterprises to invest and conduct business; expand cooperation in people-to-people exchanges, tourism, culture, and effectively coordinate the organization of the China-Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Year.

Next, at the meeting with Ms. Dong Bich Du - Consul General of China in Danang on the afternoon of May 26, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of

the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng highly appreciated the connecting role of the Chinese Consulate General in promoting friendship and cooperation between Danang and localities in China; he expressed the hope that in the coming time, the Consulate General would continue to be an important bridge to enhance cooperative activities across many fields.

Danang promotes cooperation with the Republic of Austria on infrastructure and smart cities

At the working session with the delegation led by Mr. Philipp Agathonos - Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam, on the afternoon of May 25, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Danang City People's Committee, Hồ Kỳ Minh, discussed cooperation on strategic infrastructure and smart city development. Danang hopes to expand cooperation with the Republic of Austria and international partners in sharing experiences and transferring technology towards a modern and sustainable urban area.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam highly appreciated Danang's development orientation and expressed readiness to support the feasibility study of phase 1 of the urban railway project, promote cooperation on data-based urban governance, smart transportation, and digital infrastructure.

Both sides also discussed the plan for implementing the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Danang City People's Committee and the Agency for Economic Cooperation and Development (AED) signed in March 2026. At the same time, they agreed to implement pre-feasibility research projects for the city's urban railway and maintain regular exchanges throughout the cooperation process.

Promoting cooperation with France to develop an international financial center

At the courtesy meeting with the Consul General of the French Republic in Hồ Chí Minh City, Etienne Ranaivoson, on the afternoon of May 29, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Danang City People's Committee, Hồ Kỳ Minh, requested that the French side continue to support the introduction of potential investors and partners to explore cooperation opportunities in Danang, particularly in projects such as the International Financial Center, Free Trade Zone, and port development.

Consul General Etienne Ranaivoson highly appreciated Damang's development orientation in the fields of green finance and financial technology and also stated that Paris Europlace has many strengths in investment connection, green finance development, digital assets, and the establishment of legal frameworks for financial technology.

In addition, the two localities also exchanged views on cooperation orientations with French partners, especially with the Paris Europlace Financial Association, and agreed to promote collaboration in the areas of green finance, innovation, carbon market development, digital transformation, and infrastructure investment connectivity.

Danang affirms its position as a destination for global innovation capital

The Danang Venture and Angel Investment Forum 2026 (DAVAS 2026), themed “Innovation Meets Global Investment,” gathers over 30 investment funds, 120 international experts, and 62 technology startups in the fields of AI, Web3, blockchain, fintech, healthtech, edtech, greentech, among others.

According to Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, Hồ Quang Bửu, DAVAS 2026 is not only a meeting place for startups and investment funds but also a forum for connecting knowledge, technology, management experience, and new development visions. The city expects the forum to strongly promote innovative startup activities, attract high-quality capital flows, and expand international connections for the local startup ecosystem.

DAVAS 2026 sees participation from major investment funds such as Quest Ventures, Do Ventures, ThinkZone Ventures, Antler, MEXC Ventures, with a total capital of more than 5 billion USD. At the forum, startups participating will pitch and raise funds directly in front of international investment funds.

Within the framework of the Forum, the Department of Science and Technology is organizing the Web3 Developers’ Conference – Web3 Builders’ Summit 2026 (W3BS), bringing together strategic partners, investment funds, technology enterprises, and the Web3 development community both domestically and regionally.

The program focuses on three main thematic groups: Vietnam's Web3 infrastructure, the future of currency and stablecoins, and the tokenization of assets and real-world assets (RWA). In addition to specialized discussion sessions, W3BS 2026 will also host "Lightning Debate" sessions addressing various issues of interest to the Web3 community, such as stablecoins and the traditional banking system, RWA yields compared to DeFi-native, or AI security combined with Web3.

Danang shares experiences in infrastructure development, promoting transportation connectivity with Laos

At the working session with the Task Force of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Laos People's Democratic Republic on the morning of May 27, Deputy Chairman of the City People's Committee Lê Quang Nam stated that Danang is always ready to share experiences, strengthen connections, and coordinate with localities and agencies of Laos to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two sides, especially in urban planning, traffic management, and logistics development.

Highly appreciating the experiences shared by Danang, Minister Leklay Sivilay expressed the hope that both sides would continue to strengthen cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics, and cross-border traffic infrastructure connectivity to promote regional economic development, expand goods trade, and enhance the efficiency of the East-West Economic Corridor in the time ahead.

Danang enhances international cooperation with Belarus

On the afternoon of May 28, during the meetings with the Consul General of Belarus in Hồ Chí Minh City, Alexander Sidoruk, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Trần Chí Cường expressed his hope that the Consul General would support the opening of a charter flight to Da Nang, promote cultural and tourism exchanges, and connect businesses to explore investment and import-export opportunities.

Consul General Alexander Sidoruk affirmed that Belarus regards Danang as a potential partner for expanding interregional cooperation; he also mentioned that Mogilev Province wishes to renew the cooperation agreement with Danang following the merger.

Danang strengthens friendship and cooperation with Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China)

During the reception and working session with the delegation from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) on the afternoon of May 28 Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Trần Chí Cường requested support for Danang's participation in the CAEXPO, connection of enterprises with Chinese partners, and promotion of cooperation in the fields of AI, information technology, renewable energy, smart healthcare, tourism, and education.

Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Luo Xanning, highly appreciated Danang's development potential and affirmed that he would continue to promote substantive cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges.

Central and Central Highlands enterprises discuss solutions to adapt to economic fluctuations and green transformation

The Central - Central Highlands Regional Business Conference 2026, themed “Central - Central Highlands Enterprises Facing Global Economic Fluctuations and the Green Transformation Trend,” gathered nearly 300 representatives from international organizations, economic experts, and the business community in the region.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu, affirmed that Danang identifies green and sustainable development as a consistent orientation, aiming to build the city into a major socio-economic center of the country and Southeast Asia, following an ecological, modern, smart, and livable approach. The city is committed to accompanying businesses and investors in creating a favorable business environment.

An Hải Festival 2026: A cultural, entertainment, and culinary summer destination by the Danang beach

The annual cultural and marine tourism event series “An Hải Festival 2026” with the theme “Sound Waves & Tastes” will take place from June 6 to 14 at East Sea Park, along Võ Nguyên Giáp Street, and Mỹ Khê – An Hải Beach.

The highlight is the artistic space “Sound Waves,” featuring acoustic nights, DJ performances, the fusion of Central Highlands gongs with EDM, and beachside film screenings, along with activities such as bamboo basket boat demonstrations, artistic basket rowing, beach volleyball, and community games.

The “Tastes” space gathers 50-70 food stalls, OCOP products, and local specialties, supporting QR code payment. The festival will conclude with the Flashlight Night and a communal singing session by An Hải Beach.
