Investment in data centers and AI infrastructure

On the afternoon of September 10, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng held a working session with TORmem Inc. regarding the research and investment in a data center, and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in Danang Hi-Tech Park, and cooperation in human resource development and international partner connections.

At the working session, the units discussed land funding, infrastructure, power sources, water supply needs, incentive policies, and the conditions for project implementation.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng affirmed that Danang prioritizes attracting high-tech, AI, semiconductor, and new technology projects; also assessed that TORmem Inc.'s proposal is in line with the city's development orientation. Danang is ready to support infrastructure, land, electricity, water, and investment procedures, while proactively guiding the company on matters related to planning, land, and project implementation procedures.

Investment in infrastructure for WHA Danang Industrial Park

On the afternoon of September 9, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng held a working session with Mr. Pajongwit Pongsivapai, General Director of WHA Group, regarding the study of investment projects in the city; with a focus on the investment project for the construction and operation of the infrastructure in the WHA Danang Industrial Park. The

Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Danang wishes to attract large, capable corporations, especially those investing in high-tech industries; at the same time, he requested that departments and agencies accelerate procedures, coordinate in preparing land recovery, inventory, compensation, support, and resettlement, creating favorable conditions for WHA to implement the project soon.

The WHA Danang Industrial Park is expected to cover an area of approximately 400 hectares, located in Thăng Bình Commune and Đồng Dương Commune, with a total investment of about VND 2,709 billion (USD 105 million) and an operating period of 50 years. The project will be developed as a multi-industry industrial park, prioritizing the automotive, mechanical, electrical-electronic, telecommunications, medical, high-tech, logistics industries, and other environmentally friendly sectors; the implementation schedule is expected to be 72 months from the time the land is handed over.

Mingyang Smart Energy researching investment in wind turbine nacelles at Chu Lai Open Economic Zone

On the morning of September 9, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thái Bình held a working session with Mingyang Smart Energy Group (China) regarding research and investment promotion at Tam Hiệp Industrial and Port Logistics Park (Núi Thành commune).

The Vice Chairman emphasized the advantages of land fund, industrial production infrastructure, and logistics at Tam Hiep Industrial and Port Logistics Park; he also stated that the city is oriented towards implementing strategic infrastructure projects to expand the capacity to attract large-scale projects that have high standards for logistics and port connectivity. Investors are also entitled to tax incentives in accordance with regulations.

Representatives of Mingyang Smart Energy highly appreciated the city's strategic location and support mechanisms. According to the initial research plan, the project is expected to use about 5 hectares of land, with a production capacity of 180 product units per year, creating more than 160 jobs.

Launching the photo contest “Global Eyes on Danang”

On the morning of September 10, at APEC Park, the City People's Committee organized the Opening Ceremony of the Photo Contest “Global Eyes on Danang.”

The contest will take place from August 28 until the end of November 2026, with four themes: Danang - Destination of Heritage and Nature; City Life; Cultural Intersections - Marks of International Integration; Danang - A Livable City through a New Perspective.

Through this contest, the city creates additional opportunities for interaction with the international community, contributing to the promotion of friendship, strengthening people-to-people diplomacy, and connecting the government and residents with international friends.

Initiating the program to plant 25,000 trees in the 2026–2030 period at Cù Lao Chàm

On September 9, the Management Board of Cù Lao Chàm – Hội An World Biosphere Reserve, in coordination with Đạt Phương Group, launched a campaign to plant 500 trees at Bãi Chồng (Tân Hiệp Commune) and several suitable locations on Cù Lao Chàm, within the framework of the "1 billion green – Each Tree, One Commitment" program.

This is the first field activity implemented under the cooperation program between the two units, aiming to plant at least 25,000 trees during the 2026-2030 period, while mobilizing the participation of the community, schools, tourists, and related organizations.

The activity contributes to the restoration and protection of the landscape, raises awareness of nature conservation, and promotes sustainable development in Cù Lao Chàm; in this context, each tree is regarded as a specific commitment to the environment.

Joining hands to clean up the living environment

In the southern communes and wards of the city, alongside maintaining environmental sanitation campaigns, local authorities emphasize encouraging residents to sort and treat waste at the source, control waste collection points, and gradually raise awareness and responsibility for protecting the living environment.

The “Green Sunday” movement has been implemented in 93 communes and wards, responding to the movement “All people join hands to protect the environment for a green, clean, and beautiful Danang” for the 2026-2030 period.

In 2026, the city aims for 100% of residential areas to maintain the “Clean and Green Weekend”; 80% of households to sort waste at the source; 60% of households to participate in community environmental sanitation, and 50% of residential areas to regularly operate self-management models.
