Expanding the scope of cooperation with the Public Interest Foundation, International Labor Management Foundation (Japan)
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Trần Anh Tuấn and leaders of the Department of Home Affairs held a reception and working session with the Public Interest Foundation, International Labor Management Foundation (IPM Foundation, Japan) on March 31 to discuss the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in 2026.

During 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, through two enterprises providing services to send workers abroad under contract, the IPM Foundation received 40 workers from Da Nang city and supported their transfer to two employers in Japan.
Regarding cooperation in education, the IPM Foundation, the Department of Education and Training, and the People's Committee of Trà Vân Commune are continuing to coordinate the survey and installation of solar power systems according to the plan within the framework of the signed content.
In the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Chairman of the IPM Foundation to assign its subordinate foundations to review and coordinate with the departments and branches of Da Nang city to effectively implement the cooperation contents. Da Nang City is committed to coordinating with the IPM Foundation to implement these contents with the highest sense of responsibility, employing effective methods of implementation in the future.
Mr. Ikeda Hideto – Chairman of the IPM Foundation hopes to receive comments and proposals from Da Nang city and the Department of Home Affairs in the near future to find more suitable directions for sending workers to work in Japan. The IPM Foundation also committed to creating a safe and favorable working environment for Vietnamese workers. At the same time, it will strengthen connections with Japanese localities, expand job opportunities, and coordinate exchange activities, promotion, and community support.

The project covers an area of approximately 172.6 hectares, excluding the connecting water areas, ship channels, and shared turning basins within the Lien Chieu terminal area.<br />
The overall design capacity of the project reaches approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year, equivalent to about 74 million tons of cargo per year. Within this, the operational capacity by 2030 is expected to reach 14.25–36.3 million tons per year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the bilateral survey at the Tây Giang (Danang) - Ka Lum (Sekong) border gate area on the morning of May 14, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thái Bình and Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee Khanty Silavongsath agreed on the policy and coordination plans to prepare the necessary conditions to upgrade the Tây Giang - Ka Lum border gate to a main border gate before 2030.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides conducted a field survey, determining the scope of the border gate area, suitable locations, and coordinates to serve planning purposes, forming the basis for proposing adjustments to the planning and developing the design for the main border gate.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">On the afternoon of the same day, the leaders of the two localities co-chaired a meeting and signed a joint coordination plan to implement the roadmap for upgrading the Tây Giang – Ka Lum border gate. According to the plan, by May 2026, the dossier determining the scope of the border gate area will be completed; from June 2026 to June 2027, relevant planning will be finalized; in the 2027-2029 period, investment will focus on transportation infrastructure and works in the border gate area; in the first quarter of 2030, the governments of the two countries will be presented with a proposal to consider upgrading it to a main border gate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The project covers an area of more than 172 hectares with a total investment of about 2 billion USD, planned to include 8 container berths with a total length of 2,750m, capable of receiving ships up to 18,000 TEU, and a design capacity of 5.7 million TEU/year. <p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the working session with the World Bank (WB) mission on the project 'Integrated Adaptive Development for Quang Nam Province (now Danang City)' on the morning of May 6, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng requested accelerating the implementation progress in order to quickly realize investment effectiveness; at the same time, he affirmed that the city will utilize existing resettlement areas, ensure timely handover of land, and proactively provide construction materials.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The project has a total capital of 2,723 billion VND, to be implemented during the period 2026 – 2031 in 8 communes and wards in the southern area of the city, aiming to enhance disaster adaptation capacity, reduce flooding, improve transport and irrigation infrastructure, and strengthen coastal connectivity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This season marks the first time Vietnam will host a full-distance VNG IRONMAN, while also celebrating the 10th season of VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Danang. The event opened on May 10 at East Sea Park.</p>

For VNG IRONMAN 70.3, the distances include a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run; for the full-distance IRONMAN, the competitions consist of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run.</p>

The city will continue to create favorable conditions for the project to be implemented effectively and wishes to expand cooperation with Indian partners in heritage preservation, scientific research, human resource training, and sustainable tourism development.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The project is implemented on the basis of cooperation agreements between the governments of the two countries, with a total funding support from the Government of India of about 115 billion VND.
